FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUSTIN, Texas – June 12, 2026 – Marking the grand finale of its historic three-week Trans-Pacific tour, the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) has announced the official launch of the Access Singapore trade delegation. Running from June 14th to June 19th, 2026, the mission brings a powerful contingent of Central Texas civic leaders, infrastructure experts, and corporate executives to Singapore to turn high-level bilateral agreements into concrete economic victories.
The timing of the mission is highly strategic. It serves as the direct activation phase of the landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the City of Austin and Enterprise Singapore in May 2025. That alliance was further supercharged in April 2026 when Enterprise Singapore officially opened its brand-new Austin office, extending its North American footprint into Texas and cementing Greater Austin as a premier landing pad for Southeast Asian venture capital, AI innovators, and tech startups.
“This mission marks a pivotal evolution in Austin’s global trade footprint,” said David Teo, GAACC Board Chair-Elect, CEO of Centauri Capital Group, and Access Singapore Delegation Leader. “Building directly on the landmark 2025 MOU, Access Singapore is about turning diplomatic frameworks into commercial realities across the full spectrum of industries where our two economies are most aligned, including advanced manufacturing in semiconductors and advanced materials, urban mobility systems and infrastructure, clean and sustainable energy, as well as tech and entrepreneurship in frontier sectors of AI, cybersecurity, space tech, health and biomedical sciences, and robotics. As we lead this exceptional delegation through Singapore’s world-class institutions, we are unlocking unprecedented pathways for municipal partnerships, and for Texas enterprises to scale into Asia with Singapore as a gateway while positioning Greater Austin as the prime landing pad for Singaporean companies expanding into the US market.”
High-Impact Mission Pillars & Deep-Dive Itinerary
The Access Singapore itinerary is built around intense sector-specific engagement designed to capture a slice of the global $3-trillion AI infrastructure and advanced technology supercycle:
- Sovereign Trade Support and Corporate Roundtables: Delegates will receive briefings from the U.S. Embassy Commercial Service on Southeast Asian market entry, alongside executive roundtables with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) to maximize supply chain connectivity.
- Next-Gen Innovation Ecosystems: A deep dive into Singapore’s startup landscape will feature site tours of ACE.sg (Startup and Innovation Chamber) and the Launchpad @ JTC innovation district to analyze government-backed startup scaling.
- Smart Infrastructure and Green Technology: The cohort will evaluate world-class municipal engineering models, including Keppel’s district cooling and Solar/Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS), and the Public Utilities Board (PUB) Singapore to study advanced water and wastewater management.
- Aviation & Logistics Tech: Leadership will conduct an exclusive site visit with the Changi Airport Group to gain insights into integrating applied AI and automated tech to maximize logistics and transit productivity.
Capitalizing on the $50 Billion Central Texas FDI Boom
Central Texas has rapidly solidified its position as a powerhouse for Asian Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the American South, with over $50 billion in capital investments unfolding across the region. Anchored by mega-expansions like Samsung’s $37B semiconductor presence, the region has drawn a major clustering effect of global suppliers and tech giants.
The Access Singapore leg bridges this local boom with Singapore’s legendary status as a global financial epicenter.
“Global competitiveness is increasingly being determined by the strength of innovation corridors rather than individual markets,” said Clifford Chiu, GAACC Board Member, corporate director, and civic leader. “The Austin-Singapore corridor brings together two of the world’s most dynamic ecosystems for technology, entrepreneurship, and investment. As artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing reshape the global economy, partnerships like these will become increasingly important in attracting capital, accelerating innovation, and creating long-term economic opportunity on both sides of the Pacific.”
“When Enterprise Singapore opened its Austin office, it was a deliberate statement on the power and potential of the Central Texas market,” said Mark Duval, GAACC President and CEO. “Access Singapore solidifies this bridge. By bringing Central Texas’ business leaders face-to-face with Singapore’s manufacturing networks, startup ecosystems, and sustainability pioneers, we are accelerating high-impact collaborations across a spectrum of leading industries.”
Beyond the boardrooms, the delegation will participate in a high-level Texas Exes (UT Austin Alumni) Singapore evening networking reception, connecting Texas leaders with prominent Longhorns driving the Singaporean economy.
GAACC extends its deepest gratitude to the key institutional anchors making this mission possible: The City of Austin and Enterprise Singapore.
