STATE OF THE CHAMBER

The annual State of the Chamber meeting provides an opportunity for our community to gather and connect with one another and learn about the strategic direction of Austin’s Asian Chamber. This meeting presents the results of our Annual Member Survey, updates from civic leaders, and the latest work from the Texas Asian Economic Impact Project.

Every March, SXSW draws thousands of participants to Austin from around the Asian continent. We plan to leverage our deep connections with numerous Asian governments and investment entities to develop robust and informative programs during the festival to connect local communities with Asian investment opportunities, startup support, and more.

MASTER CLASS SERIES

APRIL/SEPTEMBER

The GAACC Master Class Series provides rich opportunities for Austin-area entrepreneurs to learn directly from the experts about a range of topics critical to small businesses. With subject matter ranging from minority-owned business certification to HR and marketing, the multi-session “fireside chat” format with panelists creates a lively, educational experience.

ASIAN NIGHT MARKETS*

MAY/SEPTEMBER

Our Night Market events aim to showcase the astounding diversity of the Asian continent while centering local businesses with restaurant and retail pop-up vendors, entertainment, and diverse cultural activities. Re-launching in 2024 to coincide with AAPI Heritage Month, the May Night Market will be located in Downtown Austin. In addition, we will focus on the regional character of Greater Austin’s AAPI communities by conducting a September Night Market in an outlying area such as Georgetown or Cedar Park.

DECA SMALL BUSINESS SUMMIT

AUGUST

The Diversity and Ethnic Chamber Alliance (DECA) is comprised of the Austin LGBT Chamber, Greater Austin Asian Chamber, Greater Austin Black Chamber, and Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. DECA works with community stakeholders to build a first-of-its-kind model setting a new national standard of community collaboration to impact opportunities for minority businesses. With a mission to serve and support the small and medium business community in Central Texas, DECA and the City of Austin’s Small Business Opportunity Summit features a panel of industry experts who offer critical advice and knowledge on business development in a question-and-answer format followed by a targeted speed networking opportunity.

INTERNATIONAL MARKET SERIES

ONGONG

One of our most popular programs, the International Market Series brings the world to Austin’s doorstep. These briefings and receptions leverage GAACC’s deep connections with major Asian markets to offer expertise that’s straight from the source. This program is part of the Austin Asian Chamber’s “Think Global” initiative to create a two-way highway of investment between Central Texas and Asia’s hottest markets.

CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS

“Connection” is a core value of Austin’s Asian Chamber, and our Crucial Conversations Series will explore expertise and insights that can only come from experience. The primary focus of these events will be connecting high-profile figures with our membership. Along with robust networking opportunities, each event will feature a conversation with an AAPI entrepreneur, business leader, or civic figure in an engaging, informal, and friendly setting.

WOMEN’S CLUB

The GAACC Women’s Club provides an intimate space for our community’s dynamic women leaders to network and learn from one another. Each meeting features a presentation given by a local entrepreneur or expert who shares her insights on topics ranging from business development to time management and self care.

Ovation is the annual celebration of Asian Pacific American heritage and accomplishments hosted by the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce. “The Best Asian Party in Town” takes place each November or December at a premier downtown Austin hotel and attracts business and civic leaders and entrepreneurs from across the Central Texas region.
