June 12 - GAACC Biz Essential Series - US & Texas Tax-Info Workshop

GAACC warmly invites you to an informative workshop, presented in partnership with seasoned business specialists and Crowe, LLP. This workshop offers essential training in various aspects of business initiation with a primary focus on taxes and tax-related laws and information.

GAACC is launching a Korean workshop series to offer essential information covering various aspects of business support, including taxation, real estate, and banking. Our first workshop focuses on taxation. We understand that navigating the US tax system can be confusing when starting your own business. Attending this workshop will provide clear tax information from local tax experts and CPAs.

This workshop will be presented in Korean.

June 26 - Resources & Procurement Small Business Forum

Join us June 26th to access free resources that support business development and learn more about procurement opportunities for small, local, minority-owned businesses.

This FREE event features presentations from SCORE Austin and Texas State University’s Small Business Development Center offering free resources and small business solutions.

The LCRA Supply Chain Department will provide valuable information on small and diverse procurement opportunities, followed by HUB certification partners from the Austin ISD HUB Department, Travis County HUB Program, and the Texas State HUB Program.

June 27 - Minority Certification Bootcamp With EGBI

In partnership with EGBI, we invite you to join us for a workshop focused on obtaining certifications relevant to minority-owned and women-owned (W/MBE) businesses.

Small business certifications, such as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certifications, can provide access to government contracts and other business opportunities.

The Minority Certification Bootcamp offers information and support to assist you with the legal requirements and compliance standards to obtain and utilize W/MBE certification in industries such as: food, events, construction, translation, photography, janitorial/cleaning, and more!

Topics include:
  • What certifications are currently available
  • Who qualifies for each certification
  • What are the benefits of being certified
  • What to do with your certification to maximize it

This FREE training program aims to empower individuals from minority communities to overcome barriers, succeed in business, and contribute to economic development.

July 17 - Project Rebuild Small Business Forum 2024

We’re proud to reignite our partnership with the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) on the Project Rebuild Small Business Grant & Assistance Program.

With the support of Bank of America, all Austin-area AAPI-owned small businesses are invited to attend and apply to receive a $3,000 grant!

Through support from Bank of America, 10-15 Austin-area AAPI-owned small businesses will be selected to receive a grant up to $3,000. Access to the online grant application form will be provided during the event on July 17. The grant application window will be open between July 17 and August 17, 2024. It only takes 5-10 minutes to apply.

By attending this event, you will receive:

  • An opportunity to receive a grant up to $3000 (application opens during the event).
  • Free technical assistance from our valued partners, including financial management, how to use AI practically to grow your business, workforce solutions, and access to capital.
  • Resource support from the City of Austin’s Small Business Division and Texas State Small Business Assistance Department.
  • Networking with other small business owners and Austin’s AAPI business community.

August 9 - DECA Small Business Opportunity Summit

This summit will explore critical business development topics with expert panels, discussions, and Q&A opportunities. Connect with key resources and take your business to the next level!

Our panel sessions feature industry experts who offer critical advice and knowledge on business development in a question-and-answer format followed by a more targeted speed-networking opportunity.

 

 

This event will:

  • Assist businesses in understanding opportunities available to help them grow
  • Assist businesses in accessing resources that will position them to obtain growth opportunities
  • Panel discussion that includes experts in Technical Assistance, Certification & Procurement, Access to Capital, and Advocacy.
  • Panel Q&A
  • Attendees will network with providers that are most valuable for them or their business.
