Minh Tran will assume chairmanship of GAACC Board of Directors in 2025.

AUSTIN, Texas – February 27, 2024 The Board of Directors of the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) today announced that Minh Tran, Chairman and CEO of the Emmy and Evan Company, has been elected to the role of 2024 Chair-Elect. Tran will assume his role as Board Chair in January 2025. He will succeed Jessica Chen, who has served as Chair since 2022 and is slated to step down when her current term concludes.

“Minh is a creative, compassionate, and dedicated leader,” said Chen in an announcement video played during the GAACC’s State of the Chamber meeting on February 27th. “As a business owner himself, he understands the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs in our community. Tran has served on the GAACC Board of Directors since 2021. A dedicated leader whose passion for small businesses and community service has been the driving force behind his journey, Tran has spent years gifting his time to non-profit organizations across the United States, leaving an indelible mark on the communities he serves.

During his tenure on the GAACC Board of Directors, Tran has consistently stepped up and has served as a prominent and inspirational figure, leading, for example, the Chamber’s Golf, Membership, and Development Committees. His ability to take ownership, inspire, and mobilize others to contribute to the Chamber’s shared purpose is remarkable.

As a serial entrepreneur, Tran’s professional journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence. His ventures have created opportunities for employment and economic growth, and he understands the full potential of connecting community and business. He always seeks ways to make an impact beyond the boardroom.

“I’m truly excited,” said Tran, “Our Chamber makes a real difference, and over the last couple of years, we’ve built great momentum. My goal is to continue this momentum. We are going to celebrate and embrace the culture and traditions established by our founding leaders and I am honored to build on their proud tradition of community service.”

Married for over two decades, he is a devoted husband and father of four. The foundation of love and stability within his family provides Tran with the strength, motivation, and inspiration to extend his impact beyond his immediate circle, creating an intentional ripple effect of positive change wherever possible.

“Minh is a serial entrepreneur and a dynamic and caring community leader,” said Mark Duval, GAACC President & CEO. “He is also, and foremost, a passionately devoted father and husband. I feel incredibly excited about our organization and our momentum. With Minh leading us, I have no doubt that we’re going to make Austin a better and better place for AAPI businesses to thrive.”
