A little over a year ago, I stepped into the role of Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, and looking back, I’m filled with gratitude for what our Advisory Board has helped make possible.
From the energy of our 2025 Advisory Board VIP Mixer to the many Chamber events throughout the year, our members have shown up consistently, generously, and with genuine enthusiasm for the GAACC mission. That kind of support isn’t a given, and I don’t take it for granted.
What makes this Advisory Board special isn’t just attendance, it’s substance. Time and again, our Board of Directors and our CEO have been able to count on the Advisory Board to bring real experience, real expertise, and real networks to the table in service of advancing the Chamber’s mission. That’s the quiet, essential work that doesn’t always make the headlines but makes everything else possible.

Speaking of the mission moving forward, I’m thrilled to welcome Dave Porter to our Advisory Board. Recently retired (effective this December) from the role of Executive Director of the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, where he played a pivotal role in bringing Samsung to the City of Taylor, a landmark deal that helped spark the explosive growth of the semiconductor industry across Central Texas. His experience and insight will be a tremendous asset as we continue building GAACC’s economic development impact.
And there’s more ahead: on September 15 at our Advisory Board VIP Mixer, we’ll be unveiling two major announcements you absolutely won’t want to miss.
To every Advisory Board member who has given their time, wisdom, and connections over these 18 months: thank you. Austin’s Asian business community is stronger because of you, and I’m proud to serve alongside you as we continue building what’s next for GAACC.
Here’s to the next chapter,
